MOBILE APP DEVELOPMENT FAQ

Is owning an app profitable?

An app can earn revenue through subscriptions, purchases, service fees or other models, but owning one does not guarantee profit. Compare expected revenue with development, hosting, transaction fees, customer acquisition and ongoing support. Validate whether customers will use and pay for the service before expanding the build.

Planning an app business model and operating costs

Estimate revenue from a defined audience and pricing model, then account for the work needed to attract, onboard and retain those users. Downloads alone do not show whether people will pay or return. An internal business app may instead be evaluated through time saved or fewer errors.

Planning your mobile app project

Define the outcome you will measure during a pilot, such as completed paid bookings or reduced administration time. Compare that evidence with the cost of building and operating the service.
