Understand what the original announcement said
The 2023 article described a nomination. A nomination, an award win and a current ranking are different claims. They should not be used interchangeably in a supplier comparison.
Exceed IT's website also presents later award evidence, including the 2024 mobile development award. Check the organiser, category and year when reviewing any award. A dated recognition can be useful evidence without being presented as a permanent title.
Use awards as one part of the decision
An award does not define the scope of your project or guarantee its outcome. You still need to assess whether the development team understands your workflow, can explain its delivery process and can show relevant work.
Ask what the company built, which responsibilities it held and what evidence is available. A portfolio image alone may not explain whether the team designed, developed, maintained or contributed a smaller part of a product.
Look for evidence you can inspect

Keep demonstrations separate from completed client projects and measured outcomes. A demonstration can show a capability, but it should not be described as a customer success story without supporting evidence.
Match the partner to your requirement
A mobile consumer product, internal field app and SaaS platform involve different challenges. Describe the main journey, user roles and integrations before asking a supplier to recommend an approach.
If location matters to your working relationship, discuss communication, review arrangements and service coverage. A geographic service page should not be treated as proof of a physical branch unless a real branch is explicitly documented.
